Interacting With The Dolphins- Dolphins as a 'Totem' Spirit

The Dolphins are a 'Totem'  Spirit - they ARE a way of being - a particular 'frequency' if you like -  that is helpful to humans by helping us to be able to 'let go', relax, enjoy, 'play', and just be. There are many stories of Dolphins interceding in emergency or critical times for humans. Often this takes the form of someone having reached a point of 'end of their rope', - and the Dolphin Spirit somehow reaches in and assist in 'lightening up' the situation. This 'frequency' of the Dolphins is available in many forms - you could simply sit and meditate & telepathically tune in to their frequency. Or you could Kayak next to them and watch and feel what they are and do. Or you could sit on shore and see them leap, spin and play, or you could swim with them.    All these ways are great to feel and experience the Dolphin's Spirit.

"Hot Springs Retreat" Fall 2009-  Ojo Caliente Hot Springs

We've been looking for a place to create a "Hot Springs Retreat" - so after the Wolf Adventure we headed north towards Santa Fe to check out Ojo Caliente - the oldest healing Hot Springs in the US. We had visited the town of Hot Springs NM earlier (don't like calling it Truth or Consequences - that has to be the worst name change ever) We also went to Pagosa Springs Colorado for a second time to feel what those springs felt like again.

Any HOT Spring is great! - but Ojo Caliente with the Native Ruins, the meditation platforms in the mountains, the 4 different types of healing minerals, the Yurt Healing Tent for Yoga & 'Sanctuary For Souls' Seminar, the Rio Grande River Gorge nearby, Santa Fe & Taos nearby,  and the feel of the New Mexico High Country just couldn't' be beat.

Ojo Caliente, NM – Most people don’t know that the word SPA is actually the acronym for “Salud por Agua” which means “health through water.” In Northern New Mexico, you’ll find the quintessential SPA experience at a legendary oasis called Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs. Ojo Caliente is the only hot springs in the world with a remarkable combination of four different types of mineral waters in ten different pools with temperatures ranging from 80 to 109 degrees. These waters, which bubble more than 100,000 gallons to the surface every day, are rich in minerals including Lithia, Iron, Soda and Arsenic. The minerals are believed to have ancient healing benefits including relieving depression, aiding digestion, promoting healthy skin tone, relieving symptoms of arthritis, and are considered to be beneficial to the blood and immune system.The legendary oasis, now celebrating its 140th anniversary, was opened as a spa in 1868 by Antonio Joseph, New Mexico’s first territorial representative. The current owners of Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs prefer to call themselves stewards of the property believing maintaining and supporting the natural environment makes sense both environmentally and economically. Recent renovations and expansions have both enhanced the guest experience without abandoning the authentic and historic nature of the original environment. “I love this place,” says Spa Director Jeannine Dolan. “It’s not pretentious. It’s an authentic healing center.”

Loretto Staircase - the banister  was added later - it's as if the stairs 'float' without any visible means of support

Years ago I had read about this staircase and how a mysterious 'carpenter' showed up after the nuns prayed a novena for 9 days to help them build a staircase to their choir loft. A mysterious carpenter arrives at the end of the 9 days, no one learns his name, and using only a T square, hammer, and saw - no nails! creates a beautiful piece of art in the form of a double helix staircase that baffles experts to this day in how it stays up.
